Daniel Kent Petersen (Lead vocals, Guitar, Piano)

David Kent Petersen (Harmony vocals, Bass, Harmonica)

Bio

By age 5, Dan and Dave's mother had them singing in a children’s group. At age 16 they were taught the guitar and some classic western songs by their father Kent. He inspired them to start writing songs at age 18. They've been writing and performing together ever since.

In 1999, they formed the band 'Humma-Jeeba.' They released a self-titled demo in 2002. Having been separated by 1,000 miles for 3 years, the two collaborated as often as they could, whether by email, webcam, phone, or the occasional 'reunion' visit. Despite the distance they managed to record the self-titled demo 'Half Cowboy.'

Half Cowboy's style is an eclectic mix of pop rock and western (a la Matchbox 20 meets Hank Williams). Their passion for unique music that uplifts, inspires, and simply brings a smile continues to drive their work each day.

Panguitch All School Reunion

We had the opportunity to perform during the Panguitch All School Reunion/24th of July festivities in a Main Street Music spot. It was fun to play along the side of other great friends and musicians like Corbin Allred, who is probably best known for his role in the movie "Saints and Soldiers."

The energy was high and we felt we connected well with the audience. That's always a plus when performing. We thank all who came out to see us and support us. It's the people like you that makes performing so much fun. It's just not the same playing alone behind closed doors.

Dan and I were talking after the show and we decided it was probably the most fun, high energy show we've had since we had a drummer back in 2002. We are confident there will be many more to come as we continue our musical adventures. As you can see, my daughter was having as much fun as we were:)

Muse and Rovali's

My good friend Randal of the band "Whistling Pete's" hooked us up with a show at Muse Music in Provo, UT this past Friday. Unfortunately, Dave was out of town so I played solo, however, it turned out to be a good time. It was just me and the guitar... so I just grabbed a stool and played some chillin acoustic tunes. The crowd wasn't large but there was good energy and it was responsive which is much appreciated from the performer:) I was followed by a couple bands the final being "The Yarrow."

Then Saturday, Dave still being absent, I played our 1st show at Rovali's Ristorante Italiano in Layton, UT. I had a great experience there... good atmosphere, good people, not to mention the Lasagna, I dare say, was probably the best I've ever had:P. I'm excited about our next show there, this month Sat. June 26th, where Dave will join me so I'll be backed up with some bass and nice harmony:D

Two Shows on the Local Road

This past week was fairly busy... at least for 2 guys that each have 2 kids and a wife to tend to:) Dave made another faithful hour trip to Tooele on Memorial Day morning for some practice where we reviewed a few songs we hadn't played in probably 8 yrs or so! Dang time flies!

We made a trek down yonder to Provo on Wed. for a show at Guru's where we felt some good vibes. We decided after this gig that we need to get proactive in marketing ourselves and print up some stickers to give out free so people can remember who the heck we are after they leave!

We had a lot of fun at the girls camp fundraiser on Sat. where our donated demo CD auctioned out for a whopping $19.00! Hey it was actually more than we expected:)

Our Commitment to Blog!

Dave and I were just talking on the phone about how we need to keep our website/blog updated so that it's worth following:) So we've decided that we are going to update you on our weekly efforts to move our music forward.

For example, we got together this past Thursday night to practice, Dave traveling from Farmington UT to Tooele UT (about an hour drive)... dang! that's what I call commitment! He brought the kids along so they could play with mine... the kids really like when we get together to practice:D

We worked on a sweet base line Dave wrote for "That's How I Know She Love's Me"(btw should we shorten that title?) and we're even thinking of puting ukulele to that song! Also we decided to try out Dave's song "Telephone Poles" and man, we really feel like this has a killer harmony and will be an excelent, needed addition to our mix! Check our schedule and come hear these new songs! We have a full schedule in June:D

We hope you will enjoy our weekly updates. Please follow us and comment, telling us what you think and how we can make it better. We really appreciate everyone's support as we live out our dream! THANK YOU!
